The ultra-high vacuum (UHV) system is important to study the solid-gas interface, where many catalytic process happens, e.g. CO oxidation at Platinum surface.
My main project at University of Duisburg-Essen is building an UHV system, which integrates LEED/AES, TPD and SFG.
The UHV system has already been built up and worked well. The picture of the setup is shown above. We recently get the sum-frequency generation spectroscopy work for the UHV system.
